How Confido Calculates Forecasts for Weeks That Span Two Months

How Confido attributes forecast volume when a retail week overlaps two calendar months.

Retail weeks don't always fall neatly within a single calendar month — sometimes a forecast week starts in one month and ends in the next. When this happens, Confido doesn't assign the entire week's volume to one month or the other.

Instead, Confido calculates down to the day: each day in the week is attributed to the month it actually falls in, and the week's forecasted volume (units or dollars) is split proportionally across the months it spans based on the number of days in each.

Example: If a forecast week runs Monday through Sunday and that Sunday falls into the following month, only the portion of the week landing in the new month is allocated to that month's total — not the whole week.

This matters most when reviewing monthly rollups or reconciling a forecast against a fiscal calendar close to a month boundary — the numbers you see reflect this day-level split rather than a whole-week assignment.
