Bundle Groups vs. Bundle Master Calculation

When to enable bundle groups and bundle master calculation

Written by Jennifer Wong

The latest update adds flexibility by allowing you to pause bundle features instead of deleting your entire setup.

1. Bundle Groups Enabled

  • What it does: Maintains the linkage between the "Master" bundle and its components.

  • The benefit: When an order is placed, the system automatically deducts the components from your inventory.

  • When to use: Keep this on if you want component tracking to stay active.

2. Bundle Master Calculation Enabled

  • What it does: Automatically calculates and updates the total available master inventory every 10 minutes based on component stock.

  • The benefit: Keeps your storefront stock levels perfectly synced with your warehouse.

Strategic Use: Managing Overselling

If you want to allow overselling (selling more than your current component stock suggests), use this configuration:

  1. Enable Bundle Groups: This ensures that when a bundle is sold, the components are still deducted.

  2. Disable Master Calculation: This stops the 10-minute auto-refresh, preventing the system from overriding your manual stock levels or setting them to zero.
