Sometimes it's just not possible to return a loaner before its due date, or perhaps its still needed for a case. In these cases, it may be appropriate to request an extension on the due back date.
Viewing Inventory Loan Extension Requests
When an Inventory Loan Extension Request is submitted, Admins will receive an Email notification, so keep an eye on your email.
You'll also be able to view Inventory Loan Extension Requests in the Dashboard Widget.
Custodian User Requests an Extension
Locate the overdue or soon-to-be-overdue inventory.
Open its detail screen
Scroll down to the Due Back Date field. The item must have a due back date in the future and a consignment status of "Loaned" or "Consigned"
Click on the "Request Extension" button
Next, enter the requested extension date and a reason for the extension
Submit the request
The inventory will be given a status chip of "Extension Requested" and operations users will be notified of the request
βUse the inventory filter to view all inventory with extensions requested
Next, an Operations User will need to approve or deny the Extension Request
As an operation user, click on the notification noting the extension has been requested
The user may also filter their inventory for devices or container with Extension Requests submitted
Loaner containers will also display a status pill in the inventory list to help identify them
Once the inventory has been located, open the detail screen and click on the "Extension Requested" button
You may choose to accept the request, which will update the due back date to the requested extension date
You may also elect to decline the request, which will require you to enter a reason.
