How to Assign or Reassign the Personal Skills Map

This article will show you how to assign or reassign the Personal Skills Map (PSM)

Updated this week

Since your cadets will need to take the Personal Skills Map (or other programs like Winning Colors) each year while they are part of JROTC, Conover Online is setup so you can assign any of our programs multiple times. Each time you reassign any program, the data from the previous attempts is saved so the results from past assignments are always stored.

The first thing you need to do is choose the cadets that will get the assignment. To do this choose View Accounts.

Next, you will need to choose which cadets should get the assignment from this screen. You can use the search feature or the Tag filter to help you sort and find your cadets.

To choose the cadets, check the box in front of their name. The checkbox at the top of the screen will choose all of the cadets listed on the page. Once you check one of the boxes, a toolbar will appear at the bottom of the screen. There is a link in the toolbar that will allow you to choose all of the cadets across all of the pages.

Once you have all of your cadets checked, choose the Assign button. This will take you to the screen where you can choose from the assignment options.

Below are a few topics that will show you how to use the 4 different option for making assignments to your cadets. Select the title to expand the contents.

Using a Preset Assignment (New Cadets)

We have have a few Preset Assignments preloaded into your account that will allow you to easily assign The Success Profiler and/or Winning Colors since those are the only required programs for your cadets to complete.

Assign Personal Skills Map - This preset assignment will assign only the Personal Skills Map. If any of your cades have previously completed it, it will be reassigned to they can take it again.

The Success Profiler - This preset assignment will assign the entire Success Profiler program including the the follow-up skill enhancements. This should only be used with new cadets.

Once you have chosen a Preset Assignment, select the Continue button.

Next you will need to verify that you want to make this assignment to the list of cadets that are shown.

If you used the New JROTC Cadet preset, you will see an checkbox that you need to select in order to make the assignment. This is just to verify that you are making a subscription assignment and it cant be undone.

Select Confirm Assignment to have the preset assignments applied to your cadet accounts. This process will only take a few minutes. You will receive an email when the process is complete.

Using a Custom Assignment (and Renewing Expired Subscription)

If you do not want to use a Preset Assignment, we allow you to make up your own custom assignment for your cadets. The custom assignment section is at the bottom of the screen.

The first option is a checkbox that control reassignments and renewals. If your cadets have previously taken any of our programs, this box controls if they will get this new assignment. When checked, any assignment will be reassigned and any expired subscription will be renewed. If you are unsure, we recommend checking this box just in case.

Choose a product from the list. Select Add Product.

Choose your options for the assignment. The most common options are already selected for you. Feel free to make any changes to the subscription options. Select Assign Manually if you really want to customize what gets assigned.

If you want to add another product to this assignment, you can also use the Select Product option to add another program to the assignment list. Just choose another product, select Add product and customize your assignment.

When you are ready to make the assignment to your cadets, select Continue.

Next you will need to verify that you want to make this assignment to the list of cadets that are shown.

If you used the subscription you will see an checkbox that you need to select in order to make the assignment. This is just to verify that you are making a subscription assignment and it cant be undone.

Select Confirm Assignment to have the preset assignments applied to your cadet accounts. This process will only take a few minutes. You will receive an email when the process is complete.

Reassign the Personal Skills Map to your Cadets

To reassign the Personal Skills Map to your cadet that have previously completed it, scroll down to Custom Assignment.

First, check the box to do a reassignment. If you do not check this box, reassignments will not work and only new cadets would get this assignment.

Choose Success Profiler from the product list.

Choose Assign Manually. Then check the box for Personal Skills Map. You can also choose the Short or Long Version.

Select Continue.

Select Confirm Assignment. You will receive an email when the process is complete.

Manually Reassign the Personal Skills Map to a Cadet who has not completed an old assignment

If you are having problems reassigning the Personal Skills Map, it could be that the user has started, but not completed, a previous PSM assignment. Select View Accounts. Find the student. Click on the student's name.

Choose Manage assignment next to the Success Profiler.

Look at the end of the Personal Skills Map assignment. If you see three dots, that means the students has an Personal Skills Map assignment that they have started. Select the three dots and select Delete assignment. The Personal Skills Map will be deleted. The data will not be saved.

Once the old assignment is removed, you can then reassign the Personal Skill Map.
