Changing the domain of your site in Consent Studio
General information
You can change your Consent Studio domain name in the Manage Domain panel of the Consent Studio dashboard.
Some remarks:
A domain may not start with
www.and must be unique in our system.There is a cooldown on domain name changes of six days.
You may always contact our support team to assist you with domain name changes.
Domain name validation
When registering a new domain or changing an existing domain with Consent Studio, we will check the validity of the domain first.
A crucial part of this is to check if our scanner can access the domain. This means that non-existing domains cannot be registered, nor can domains that give our scanner a certain response code.
When we receive a response code that is not within our expectations, we will append the received response code to the error notification, so you can share these with our support team.
Most of the times, issues with registering a domain are resolved by making sure that our scanner IP addresses can freely access your domain (i.e. whitelisted). Especially when you use a WAF and/or Cloudflare, this is often the problem.
