If you want to use contentbird for publishing content on LinkedIn, you must link the corresponding project with LinkedIn. However, the following restrictions apply on the part of the LinkedIn API:

  • Only so-called "company pages" can be linked, i.e. no private accounts. This means that the posts are played out to the followers of the "company page" and not to the contacts / followers of the private account via which contentbird was linked to LinkedIn.

  • Only one company page can be linked per project.

  • Only one image / video can be used per post.

  • No image / video can be used if the LinkedIn post contains a content URL. In this case LinkedIn will automatically pull the first image of the content.

  • Posting articles is not possible.

1) The initial LinkedIn link

The linking is done via your private LinkedIn account - the prerequisite is that your private account has access to a company page.

Go to the link in contentbird in the project settings under:

Administration > Projects

In the corresponding project, select the Integrations tab and click:

Log in to Linkedin and allow contentbird access:

Here you will see the company pages that you can access with your LinkedIn account. To select, please click on the profile picture of the corresponding page:

After saving, your contentbird instance is linked to the desired LinkedIn company page, the LinkedIn button now contains additional functions:

( 1 ) Profile picture of the linked LinkedIn company page.

( 2 ) Edit mode to select - if available - another company page.

( 3 ) Complete deletion of the LinkedIn link.

Attention: This may possibly have an impact on links of other projects! Make sure that you are not still using your LinkedIn login in other projects, as the access will be deleted there as well and then the company pages linked there can no longer be accessed.

2. renew LinkedIn authorization

The link must be renewed every 365 days, but this is not a problem, because contentbird offers you a link for renewal one week in advance.

After the link is clicked you will receive this confirmation:
