Every Retailer/Distributor site has varying degrees of content that they make available and/or are allowed on a Product Details Page. Additionally, some sites may score differently than others (and that's OK). As with everything else within Content Status, we built our scoring feature to be completely flexible to meet the needs of any type of user. Check out the instructional overview below and our (V1) video for a comprehensive walkthrough.
Common Scorecard Use Cases
Corporate version. If your organization has higher quality thresholds, it's a great way to ensure each page meets those.
Retailer / Distributor versions. You can use our default scorecards or customize it to meet your category requirements.
Category Specific versions. Create scorecards for different categories based on varying content requirements. Example: appliances typically has higher content requirements vs hardware. Great for retailers, distributors, and agencies.
Steps to Access, Create New or Modify Existing Scorecards
First, navigate to the "Customize Scorecards" in your navigation banner to access your scorecard dashboard. The Scorecards dashboard Provides an overview of the system generated (default) scorecards, as well as any "custom" scorecards you have created.
NOTE: You are unable to change or update system generated / Default scorecards created by ContentStatus, only those you have created yourself
From here, you can choose to edit a current custom scorecard (under actions), choose what scorecards are applied for each retailer (Manage Defaults) or create a New scorecard from scratch.
To Create a New Scorecard:
First, If you want to create a new scorecard you can either start from scratch by selecting the "New" icon, or you can select the icon under Actions to Duplicate an existing scorecard. This can save you time if you are only making minor changes, such as updating the Image Counts.
When editing an existing scorecard or creating a new scorecard, you will need to Provide a Name and Description, as well as select the retailer sites you want this applied to, before moving on to customizing the segments of each scorecard and before you can Save the scorecard:
Next: To customize a scoring segment, click into the dropdown for each segment. The available scoring criteria available for each segment is listed and checked by default. Additionally, the scoring criteria is color coded and based on a 0 to 5 scale with 0 (Dark Red) being the "Worst" and 5 (Green) being the "Best"
To adjust the criteria within each segment, click in the colored box to update the desired counts. You can insert a dash "-" to signify "anything in between". You can also "Select/Deselect" any of the sections (Such as Marketing >> "Title") to remove this attribute from the scoring criteria.
Lastly, once you have updated each of the scoring segment and attribute rules, you will want to review and update the "Score Weighting". Weighting is broken into the 5 Possible segments that we audit and can score against, including:
Marketing: Title, Description, Bullets
Keywords: Title, Description, Bullets (NOTE: Unless you have created Keywords and applied to products, it is not recommend to include this in your scoring criteria with any "weighting")
Assets: Images, Image Resolution
Rich Content: Video, PDF, Enhanced Content, 360 Product View
Sentiment: Rating Score, Rating Count (NOTE: If a site does not support ratings and reviews, you will not want to include this in the scoring criteria).
You can choose to have the tool "balance" all scoring segments and their respective scoring conditions, or choose "Custom" to update the weighting you desire.
PRO TIP: You may also want place more emphasis/weighting for certain conditions in a scorecard segment. Ex: if your Marketing criteria include Title, Description and Bullets. You may set your Title at 50% and your description & bullets both at 25%. This puts most of the scoring emphasis and weighting for your Marketing score on the Product Title
Managing and Assigning your Default Scorecard
Great - You've created a Custom Scorecard and now you want to assign it. See Image & Follow the 3 Steps below:
1. From your "Customize Scorecards" dashboard, select the Manage Defaults Button
2. Scroll until you find the retail you want to apply the updated scorecard, and choose the Scorecard you want to assign as the default. Please Note: If you do not see the scorecard name listed in the retailer dropdown, you will want to return to edit that scorecard and make sure the required retailers are assigned to that scorecard
3. Hit "Save" to update the default and return to the Customize Scorecards page
Last but not least. If the instructions above aren't enough, the 10 Minute video below is a great reference as well. This video was recorded using our Version 1 solution however, and may slightly differ from our current V2 user experience (we're working to update it).
