πŸ‘‰ What is Split testing?

Split testing is essentially an experiment where two or more variants of a page are shown to users at random, and statistical analysis is used to determine which variation performs better for a given conversion goal.

Split testing allows individuals, teams, and companies to make careful changes to their user experiences while collecting data on the results.

πŸ‘‰ Here is how to use it in Converdy 2.0 ->

Once you have a page you wish to trigger Split testing on, click on the three vertical dots of your page. Choose the "Create Split Test" to start the experiment.

A little pop up box will appear where you need to write the test name and choose the page. You can choose from a current page and edit it or choose a blank page instead and create an entirely different design.

Once you have decided, proceed by clicking the + Split Test. An Editor/Control board will open

It is very important to mention:

πŸ‘‰ Control- Original page

πŸ‘‰ Variant- Version of the original page

In this menu, you can also decide on what percentage will you place the page distribution.

πŸ’‘ It is typically recommended to run holdback split tests for larger websites that receive thousands of conversions per month. In these types of tests, you launch the tests to a small percentage of your site visitors. For example, you start with launching the test to 10% of your visitors. If the results are encouraging, then you expand the test to 25%, 50%, and 100% of your website visitors.

Once you have set up your distribution percentage, click on Start. A Pop up will come up to notify you that if the test is started, both funnels will be published. This a good to keep in mind if you are not done building your variant page.

If you have finished editing/creating your pages, hit Start & Publish.

If the Icon light is green, this means that the split test is active. Once you want to finish your test, click on that green Icon and press Stop.

Upon ending the Split test, you will need to select the winner which will then be set as homepage.

But before we do that, we need to check our page analytics to decide the winner. To do so, go back to your Project and look for Analytics.

Then, look for Charts- Split Test

In Split Test Analytics you can search by custom timeline or preset timeline (7, 30 or 90 days). You also have an overview of previous tests, including the current ones.

As you see, Analytics has a perfect overview of details that you need to decide which page has gathered better results.

Page views refer to the number of times your visitors have looked at your pages. Unique views are the number of the unique users that click on a tracking link of your campaign. If a single user views 7 times on a link, the server will record 7 views and 1 unique view.

You can also look at the percentage rate of your opt ins as well as sales, to decide which page converted better

Once you measured your analytics and decided for a page, it is time to Stop Split Test

The page losing page will be addressed with this note:

πŸ‘‰ This will mark the '(your selected page)' page as the winner and end the split test. The funnel will be published and the test will immediately stop serving. The winner will be served on the original page path.

Winner page will be marked as home.

Congrats! You have now successfully started and finished your first Split testing πŸ₯³πŸš€
