Favicon is also known as a shortcut icon, website icon, tab icon, URL icon, or bookmark icon. It is a file containing one or more small icons associated with a particular website or web page. Basically, it is a small 16×16 pixel icon that serves as branding for your website. Its main purpose is to help visitors locate your page easier when they have multiple tabs open. Due to their tiny size, favicon's work best as simple images or one-to-three characters of text. Favicon's are not to be confused with logos but are sometimes the same

Where can you see the Favicon?

Favicon's are found next to anything that identifies your website. This includes bookmarks, tabs, toolbar apps, history results, and search bars.

Creating a favicon is a small but important step to setting up a business website. It adds legitimacy to your site and helps boost your online branding as well as trust from potential consumers.Obviously, it is much easier to find the needed bookmark by image, associated with a certain website, rather than looking through different URLs. Today, you can find favicon used by all popular and modern websites and browsers in its browsing tabs.

How to set up a Favicon?

Click on “Settings” - the gear icon. It will open a General tab where you can add/change your Favicon.

Once you click on “Upload” it will open a library from which you can choose your Favicon image. Use the images from your computer or browse from our Media Cloud

Upload your wanted image, enable the “No Index” sign, and click Done.

Once you have uploaded your Favicon image, click on “Preview” and check out how your Favicon looks in the browser.

If you want to change, or are not satisfied with your Favicon look; simply go back to your library and change the icon.

The optimal size for creating a favicon is 16x16 pixels, which is the size in which they are most commonly displayed. However, they can sometimes appear in larger dimensions too (such as 32x32 pixels). File: The preferred file format for a favicon is JPEG or PNG.
