How to add social media links to your emails

Add custom links to your emails so your subscribers know where to find you.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

If you create content on social media and other platforms like Patreon or Etsy, you may want to send your subscribers to those pages from your Broadcast and Sequence emails. To do this, you can add a Link Group, which is a collection of custom links:

How to add a Link Group

Start by clicking anywhere in the body of your email. You’ll see the (+) sign pop up on the left-hand side of the email editor.

Scroll down until you see the Link Group option, and select it with your cursor. After clicking Link Group, the Link Group block will show up in the body of your email.

NOTE: You can also call up the Link Group content block by typing "/link" in your email.

Now, you're ready to customize your links.

Adding links

To add a link to your platform of choice, click the Add link option. Enter your URL, and then click the Add link button to confirm the addition.

NOTE: Be sure to add the URL (e.g., https://instagram.com/kit) rather than your handle (e.g., @kit).

Customizing individual links

Once you’ve added your link, you can customize its text, icon, and URL from the right sidebar.

Customizing link styles

To edit the appearance of all links, click any link to navigate to the Link Group tab in the right sidebar.

NOTE: Double-check that the right sidebar menu says Email > Section > Link Group and not Email > Section > Link Group > Link. The latter displays settings for customizing individual links (instead of the styles for all links).

From here, you can change your links' appearance (background color, font size, icon color, border style, etc). You can use the Show icons toggle to choose whether you want your links to display icons.

Removing links

To remove a link in the Link Group, place your cursor at the end of the link's text and hit the Backspace button on your keyboard until all of the link's text—and the link itself—has been removed.

To remove the entire Link Group, place your cursor at the line below the empty Add link option. Hit the Backspace button on your keyboard until all of the Link Group's links—and the Add link option itself—have been removed.

After removing the last link in the Link Group, you may need to re-place your cursor at the line below the empty Add link option, and hit Backspace on your keyboard again to remove Link Group completely.
