Sell your products in different currencies

Updated over a week ago

Selling a digital product, paid newsletter, or service with ConvertKit Commerce? Now you can sell your Commerce products in different currencies!

The following currencies are now supported:

  • USD · US Dollar

  • EUR · Euro

  • GBP · Pound Sterling

  • CAD · Canadian Dollar

  • AUD · Australian Dollar

  • NZD · New Zealand Dollar

How does selling in different currencies affect fees?

The cost of using ConvertKit Commerce to sell in USD is the industry-standard of 3.5% + $0.30 processing fee per transaction.

Because of the exchange rates in different currencies, fees will vary.

Here are the fees per currency:

  • USD · US Dollar · 3.5% + $0.30

  • GBP · Pound Sterling · 3.5% + £0.20

  • EUR · Euro · 3.5% + 0.25€

  • CAD · Canadian Dollar · 3.5% + $0.30

  • AUD · Australian Dollar · 3.5% + $0.30

  • NZD · New Zealand Dollar · 3.5% + $0.30

Note: This means that if you're a US-based creator who receives payouts in USD but you made a sale on a product using EUR, you would incur the EUR fee.

How to choose your product's currency

When creating a new product, the default currency will be USD.

To select a different currency, you'll need to start by creating a new product. Then on the Product Details page, you'll see the option to choose currency:

Once you've selected your currency, you'll see that the currency under the price setting also changes:

That's it! You've set the currency for your new product.

FAQ

Can I sell the same product in multiple currencies?

No, each product can only be sold in one currency. You will need to create multiple versions of the product and choose a different currency for each version.

Can a customer choose their currency?

Since each product can only be sold in one currency, the customer won't be able to choose which currency they want to purchase your product.

Can I change the currency of an existing product?

Unfortunately, it isn't possible to modify a product currency once it has been created. You'll need to create a new product and select the currency of your choice.

How does this affect the purchase graph?

The purchases graph (found on the subscribers page) only shows purchases for one currency at a time (by default, this is USD). To change the currency of the graph, you can switch the currency using the drop down menu.

The revenue data shown on the dashboard will also default to show sales in USD. This means that if you sell in both USD and a local currency, only sales in USD will show on the dashboard. On the other hand, if you only sell in your local currency, then only the sales in your local currency will show on the dashboard.
