What is Site On Test?

Site On Test is a function of Priority Events, our monitoring platform. Operators are able to activate and deactivate a filter that blocks Engineer's testing activity from making it's way into the main monitoring platform, as well as all reporting tools too.

How does it work?

Operators will typically receive a call from Engineers, requesting the site be 'Put on Test'. When the Test Mode is activated, all future events within the testing period will be redirected away from the main monitoring and reporting tools, and stored in it's own auditing function.

Once the session has ended, or if the Operator ends the session manually, the site will be placed 'Off Test', meaning that all alarms will now flow back into the main monitoring platform.

Does this affect our Alarm Signalling in any way?

We do not ever stop the stream of alarms, or change the routing nature in anyway. Instead, we simply divert the alarms 'in-platform' to a place where the user can view and audit the alarms separately to the main monitoring feature.

What happens if the session isn't deactivated?

We have safeguards in place to ensure that sites are not left 'On Test' permanently. Namely, the window for putting a site on test is defined ahead of time. After that time period has concluded, the site will automatically be placed off test.

Operators will be notified that a site is reaching the end of it's session, and Operators will be able to end sessions early or extend sessions if required.
