CONXTD is a cloud based SaaS (Software as a Service) provider and as such there is no software to download to use the platform. All that is required is a browser and internet connection.

Version

Due to being cloud based, the latest version is always in use. Updates and releases are automatically applied to the platform with no impact to users. The current version number can be viewed in the bottom right of the screen (once logged in).

Browsers

In order to make full use of all the features within CONXTD we recommend you use a modern browser which is regularly kept up to date.

Compatible browsers:

IT networks

In most cases, customers should be able to access the system without issue. However some customers accessing on company networks with strict firewalls may have to discuss with IT to whitelist these services.

Priority Events - Web Sockets

The priority events section of CONXTD provides users with a live view of sites currently in alarm. By default this page provides real time updates with sound and visual notifications via web socket technology.

On page load, a connection is made to socket.conxtd.com to establish a TCP web socket connection. This connection then remains active for the length of time the user is on the page. Any new events get pushed through to the user where sounds & visuals are triggered to get the user’s attention. When the page is closed, the connection is disconnected.

The status of the connection can be seen at the top of the page:

  • Green = connection active

  • Red = no connection

If the web socket connection is unavailable, the page will default to auto-refresh every 30 seconds and sounds & visuals notification will be unavailable.

Web sockets could be blocked due to:

  • Firewall rules

  • Anti-virus software

  • Proxy and VPN connection

  • AdBlock / Cookie blocker browser extensions

We advise contacting your IT department if you experience connection issues.
