Popups allows you to add new popups to your site. Popups are a type of small window that appears in a web page. Popups can be set up to appear when clicked as a link or automatically as an action from a personalization rule. Use popups to grab user's attention or provide information without having to change pages.
Step 1: How to Set Up a Popup
To set up and add a popup:
Log into Corksy.
Go to Online Store > Customize.
In the side panel, click Pages, and then click the Popups tab.
Click + New Popup.
Select a popup type. The popup type pre-populates the popup with widgets.
Type a name for your popup, and click + Add Popup.
Step 2: Design the Popup
Add elements like:
Text (e.g. “Join the Wine Club for 15% Off”)
Images (e.g. wine, event graphics)
CTA Buttons (e.g. “Book Now”, “Subscribe”)
Link buttons to pages or external forms.

Step 3: Activate Popup
Unlike a page generated in the navigation automatically, a popup can only be triggered by being clicked as a link or by using a site personalization rule. Popup triggers only occur once per session. A session is any activity on the site and remains active until at least 30-60 minutes have passed.
How to Link to Popups
There are several widgets that allow you to link to a popup, such as Photo Gallery image links, text, and buttons. To link to a popup:
Right-click the widget that you want to link to the popup from, then select Edit content. Alternatively, if you are linking from text, highlight the desired text and click the link icon in the text editing menu.
Click Popup, then select which popup you want to link to from the dropdown menu.
How to Use Personalization Rules to Condition a Popup
You can create a popup using site personalization or set personalization rules for an existing popup. Personalization rules can include what triggers the popup to appear, how quickly the popup appears on the screen, and more.
💡 To learn how to create personalization rules, see Personalization Rules.
Please note:
To see your personalization rule in action, try 1) clearing your cookies and cache, 2) using another browser, or 3) waiting until the time has expired.
This information is specific to the Classic Editor, and not relevant for Editor 2.0.
How to Add a Close Element to Popups
By default, the X button can be clicked to close a popup. You can also add a "Close popup" link to any linkable element in the popup that will close the popup when clicked.
For example, you could add the close link to a button that says "No thanks" on a popup that is offering a coupon code. When the website visitor clicks the No thanks button, it will close the popup.
To add a close link to a popup:
In the side panel, click Pages.
Click the Popup tab and open the desired popup.
Click any linkable element in the popup and select Close Popup as the link.
How to Edit Popups
A popup is very similar to a page. You can add new rows, columns and insert any widget into a popup. To adjust the size of the popup, drag the bottom right corner.
How to Edit Popup Settings
To edit the settings for a popup:
In the side panel, click Pages, and then click the Popups tab.
Click the settings () icon for specific popup. You have the following options:
Rename. Rename the popup in the editor. This does not change the page URL.
Duplicate. Creates an exact copy of the popup.
Delete. Deletes the popup. This action is irreversible unless you have a backup.

Avoid pop-up fatigue: Limit frequency to avoid overwhelming visitors.
Use urgency: If appropriate, add deadlines or “limited time only” copy.Test and optimize: Review performance and adjust based on results.
