How to Delete a Product

  1. Navigate to the Products tab in the admin dashboard.

  2. Find the product you wish to delete.

  3. Click the trash icon next to the product.

  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Example: To delete a white wine SKU, click delete and confirm the removal.


Understanding Soft Deletion

  • If the product has historical sales, it will be soft deleted.

  • Soft-deleted products:

    • Do not appear on the products page.

    • Still show up in order history.

    • Cannot be duplicated using the same product name.

  • This ensures past orders remain accurate and traceable.

Soft deletion protects sales data integrity and prevents product name reuse.


Recreating Deleted Products

  • If a product was created by mistake and had no sales, it can be deleted and recreated with the same name.

  • If the product had sales, you’ll receive a warning when trying to reuse the original name.

    • Message: "Please change the product name—it has been used already."

  • If a soft deletion was made in error, contact support to restore the original product.

You’ll know a product had sales if the system blocks reuse of the same name.
