Exporting Basics

"Exporting" is the process of moving your finished records from CoVet to your practice management software or other application.

There are 3 main ways to export information from CoVet

  • Copy & Paste. This is the most commonly used option.

  • Email

  • PDF Download / Print

There are 2 locations within CoVet you can export from

This article will show you how to export records directly from the Record screen.

The same functionality is also available from the Export Center, and it comes with the added benefit of allowing teammates to better keep track of the status of each record. After reading this article be sure to check it out!

Copy & Paste - Section by Section

This is the function most user rely on to quickly move records from CoVet to any practice management software.

After creating your record, you'll notice a "Copy" button on the top right of every section. This button will copy the text for that section, which you can then paste into any other software.

Important Note: Even if you're recording consultations via the CoVet app on your mobile device you'll want to access CoVet on a web browser for most export purposes. We suggest having CoVet open in one window, and having your practice management software open in another window on the same device to facilitate easy copying and pasting.

Copy & Paste - Entire Record

To make the export process even faster, you can copy your entire record with a single click, just use the "Copy All" button at the top of the record.

When you use this option, your record will be pasted in it's entirety, with section headers in place. One click to copy, one click to paste and you're all done!

Email

You can export any record from CoVet by emailing it directly to yourself, your clinic or your client. To do this, just scroll to the bottom of the record, enter the email address and click "Send email".

Your record will be delivered both in the body of email, and as a nicely formatted PDF attachment.

Send Email from Record Screen

You can add a note to be sent along with your email (useful in particular if you're emailing a client directly) but please note the person receiving the email won't be able to reply to you.

To download your records as a nicely formatted PDF, including section headers, just click the "Download PDF" button near the top of the record.
