How to add Confluence to Coworker

How to Confluence as a connected data source to Coworker

Updated over 5 months ago

ℹ Only Network Admins can add data sources to Coworker. Contact your network admin for assistance

ℹ You must be an admin for the connected data source in order to successfully connect the tool to Coworker. If you do not have admin access for this tool, you will need to either obtain admin privileges for the tool otherwise add an admin of that tool as an admin on Coworker so they can complete the connection

Prerequisites

Generating the credentials

  1. Generate an API token associated with your Confluence account https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens

  2. Copy the token and store it in a secure place. This is the access token that Coworker will need.

  3. Export users to connect email and Confluence IDs

    1. Click Directory

    2. Click the three dots on the top right and click "Export Users"

    3. Change the users selector to only active users, and click export

    4. When you receive the email, download the users and share them with the Coworker team

Information required for the Coworker connection:

  • email: The email address associated with the Confluence account which created your API token

  • api_key: The API token created above

  • base_url: The base URL of your Confluence account, prefixed with https, eg. https://mycompany.atlassian.net

  • start_date: Date of the first record to synchronize, in a ISO8601 format (eg. 2024-01-01)

  • Share your list of Confluence users

ℹ You must share your API key and credentials via a secure app like 1Password or LastPass. This is for SOC2 compliance and to protect your data
