Closed accounting periods

The Cozero closed periods feature enables your organization to mark selected time periods and the emissions data is closed or completed.

Updated over a week ago

The Cozero Closed Periods feature enables your organization to mark selected time periods and the emissions data that falls within them as closed or in other words, complete. Closing a period of accounting means that your logs during that period will be locked, and you won’t be able to add any new logs to the defined period. This feature allows you to define which data is complete, provides control over any updates to your emissions and facilitates internal and external reporting.

How to close a period of accounting:

  • Step 1: Click on the “Log” section on the left of the Cozero platform dashboard

  • Step 2: Select “Carbon Footprint” which is nested under “Log”, alternatively you can go directly to the closed period section, nested under “Log”

  • Step 3: Click on ‘Create closed period’ on the top right of the page

  • Step 4: To create a closed period, provide details on the time frame and business level of your completed data

  • Step 5: Save the closed period in draft mode or as a final version using the ‘Draft mode’ toggle button. When you save a closed period as a draft you will still be able to add or update logs for that time period.

You will then be taken to a dashboard view where you can create custom reports and view all data within your closed period.

View, edit or delete existing closed periods:

  • Step 1: Click on the “Log” section on the left of the Cozero platform dashboard

  • Step 2: Select “Closed Periods” which is nested under “Log”. Here you will find a list of existing closed periods

  • Step 3: To view the data and create reports for a closed period, click on the closed period of your choice within the table

  • Step 4: To edit or delete a closed period, click on the three dots on the right hand side of the closed period.

Updating closed period data: In the case we have new data available for logs within a closed period, an ‘Update’ button will appear next to the relevant closed period. You will be able to view and accept any suggested changes.
