Tracker (Sub ID)

Written by Support

A tracker (Sub ID) is a way to tag your campaigns, traffic sources, ad spots, and banner names. A tracker helps you pinpoint how many hits are coming from a particular source and how many sales are being generated. Additionally, trackers can be categorized into Sources and SubIDs. Sources identify the high-level origin of traffic, such as advertising platforms or email campaigns, while SubIDs allow for more granular tracking, capturing details like individual ads or keywords.

Trackers collect data that includes both high-level traffic sources and detailed campaign elements. This data helps in understanding traffic attribution and campaign performance.

The information contained within a tracker should be relevant to your campaigns. To effectively use trackers, customize your tracking links with SubID parameters, assign specific values for traffic sources or campaigns, and maintain consistent naming conventions for easier analysis.

Trackers can be thought of as little memory cues that can help jog your memory on what you’ve done (that turned out to be successful), or that provide you with great insight of your success. For example, SubIDs can be used for A/B testing to determine which ads or keywords perform best, enabling data-driven optimization of your campaigns.
