With that said, no, not directly. When you import a credit report for a client, the report provider is selected and saved to that client’s profile. After that first import, you cannot switch to a different report provider within the same client profile. If a client needs to use a different provider, the workaround is to create a new profile for that client using the new provider.
Why is provider switching limited?
This limitation exists to prevent duplicate and inconsistent data.
Each credit report provider formats report data differently. If multiple providers were imported into the same client profile, the system could create duplicate records and inaccurate credit item data.
To protect data consistency, Credit Repair Cloud does not allow provider changes after a report has already been imported for a client.
Clients must forward response letters
Even if you import an updated report from the same provider, that report will not include all of the important details found in response letters from credit bureaus or creditors.
For that reason, your client must forward all correspondence to you.
You cannot properly perform credit repair without reviewing those responses. Client participation is required throughout the process
Important Note: Updated reports alone are not enough. Response letters from bureaus or creditors are still required.
Alternatives to switching providers
If your client wants to change credit monitoring or report providers, use one of the options below.
Option 1: Import again from the same provider
If the client is staying with the same provider, you can import again, and the system will update the report data.
This only works when the provider stays the same
You will still need the client’s response letters to review bureau or creditor updates
Option 2: Update credit items another way
If you only need to update credit item changes and you already have the response letter(s), use the alternative method for updating credit item changes instead of switching providers.
Option 3: Mark the current profile inactive and create a new one
If the client must switch to a different provider:
Mark the client’s current profile as Inactive
Change the email address on the inactive profile
Create a new client profile using the client’s original email address
Select the new report provider during setup
This is the preferred way to move a client to a different provider while keeping the old profile separate.
Option 4: Delete the current profile and create a new one
You can also delete the current client profile and create a new one using the new provider.
Important Note: Historical data will not be preserved. Use this option only if you no longer need the existing profile history.
Best practice for profile transitions
If a provider change is necessary:
Save any critical client data from the current profile
Change the current profile to Lead or Inactive
Create a new client profile with the desired provider
Delete any previous onboarding tasks from the new profile, if needed, to avoid confusion and keep the workflow clean
