✨ Overview
The canvas is the space where you create your design, like a blank sheet of paper or a digital board. The size of your canvas decides how big or small your final design will be.
When you start a new project, it’s important to choose the right canvas size from the beginning. This helps your design fit well when you want to print it or share it online.
If you ever need to change the size later, CreativeOS lets you resize your canvas easily, but it’s always better to pick the right size before you begin so you don’t have to adjust your elements again.
When Creating a New Design
When starting a new project in CreativeOS, you’ll be prompted to set your canvas size.
Choose a preset size (like Instagram Post, YouTube Thumbnail, A4, etc.) from the templates list.
Or, enter custom dimensions (width and height) manually, for example, 1080×1350 px for an Instagram portrait post.
💡 Tip: Always decide your canvas size before adding elements. Changing dimensions later can stretch or misalign your design.
Resizing an Existing Canvas
If you’ve already started designing and need to adjust the canvas size:
Go to the Menu Bar
Look for Resize at the bottom left
3. Enter your new dimensions (width and height).
3b. Alternatively, select a preset dimension for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.
4. Click Resize Canvas to confirm the new size.
💡 Best Practices
Set your size first: Always define the correct dimensions before starting any design to avoid alignment issues later.
Use templates: They help maintain consistent sizing across multiple projects.
Keep proportions in mind: When resizing, use the “lock aspect ratio” option to avoid distortion.
For print designs: Use higher resolution (300 DPI) to ensure crisp quality.
