Updating your DNS to allow CreditorWatch Collect to send email reminders from your domain.

CreditorWatch Collect uses the SendGrid  to send out email reminders. There's two ways authorise SendGrid to send emails from your domain. You will likely need the assistance of your IT provider for both options.

Option 1. Add an SPF record to your DNS

The SPF record you need to add to your DNS is:

v=spf1 include:sendgrid.net ~all

You are sometimes required to create a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record with your domain name registrar to ensure that all your email reminders get delivered properly. An SPF record will ensure that emails sent from our domain are not marked as spam by any email clients. It can be done quickly, in a matter of minutes, by modifying your Domain Name System (DNS). 

And here's how you do it:

  • Go to your domain registrar's website.

  • Login to the domain control panel.

  • Open your DNS configuration settings. 

  • Edit your ZONE File and look for TXT or SPF record.

  • Specify the following value: "v=spf1 include:sendgrid.net ~all".

  • Save your changes.

But what if an SPF record already exists?

You can just include the SPF in the same line as your existing record:

v=spf1 a mx include:_spf.google.com include:spf.protection.outlook.com include:sendgrid.net ~all

Option 2. Request Domain Authentication

In the addition to adding the SPF record above, you can also ask us to authenticate your domain with SendGrid. This provides an extra level of authentication.

To request Domain Authentication with SendGrid, email collectsupport@creditorwatch.com.au or use the live chat box on your screen. You or your IT provider will need to provide us with the following details:

  • Your domain name e.g. mybusiness.com

  • Your custom return path e.g. mail.mybusiness.com

  • Custom DKIM selector (if you have one)

Once your send this information we will provide you with the DNS records you need to add to your DNS in order to complete the verification process.
