How to fix Camera and Microphone issues on Crimson Classroom

How to change your settings so Crimson Classroom can access your camera and microphone

Updated over a week ago

We suggest all students use Google Chrome when using Crimson Classroom. You can download Google Chrome here.*

Google Chrome needs access to your Camera and Microphone to work. You can fix this by following these instructions:

In summary:

  1. Go to Crimson Classroom and join a class (app.crimsonclassroom.com)

  2. Allow Google Chrome to access your microphone and camera by either:

    1. Clicking "Allow" when the pop-up shows,

    2. Or clicking the camera icon in the top right-hand corner,

    3. Or clicking the lock icon in the top left-hand corner and selecting "Site settings", then allowing access to your Microphone and Camera.

*Please note, there have been a few rare instances where Mac users have not been able to get Chrome to ask for permission to use the camera/microphone/screen recording and in this case using Safari rather than Chrome sometimes solves the problem.

If you still can't get your camera and microphone to work you can set up a help session with someone from our Operations Team by emailing mycga@cga.school.
