What to Expect

Typing Assessment

The Typing Assessment measures typing speed and accuracy. In this assessment, you will be presented with a passage and given one minute to type as much of the passage as possible. Including instructions, this test takes about two minutes to complete.

Data Entry Assessment

The Data Entry Assessment measure's ability to perform data entry for numerical fields by testing both keystrokes per hour as well as accuracy. This is an untimed test that consists of 20 entries and takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.

How to Prepare

The Data Entry and Typing Assessments are designed to demonstrate the speed and accuracy with which you can type given items. As such, there’s no specific study required before completing either of these assessments. The best thing you can do to prepare is to ensure you’re in a comfortable, distraction-free environment, and that you have read all the instructions carefully.

Troubleshooting

Please note that this assessment requires the use of a keyboard and mouse, meaning you will require a desktop or laptop device to complete your assessments.

If you’ve ensured that your device meets the system and browser requirements and you are still experiencing issues, we suggest trying the following:

  • Check your browser version is up to date by checking in browser settings, or by using the following site: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/ (Please go through with the update if available)

  • Ensure there are no file transfers (downloading/uploading) occurring

  • Pause/close any video streams (Youtube, Netflix, etc)

  • Have as few windows and tabs open as possible

  • Use physical (ethernet) connection if possible

  • Update/Restart computer

  • Update/Restart router

  • Move locations for better reception for Hotspot/stronger network

  • Switch browser

If issues persist, please try accessing the assessment via a different device or connection (for example, mobile/hotspot).
