Cannot hear any audio

If you cannot hear the question or yourself, this likely means that audio is not coming from the browser at all. Please ensure:

  • The browser tab is not muted

  • The device is not on mute

  • Speakers or headphones are properly connected and chosen as the output device with the volume up

  • If your audio is working outside of the browser, restart the browser or try another

If issues persist, please try accessing the video interview via a different device or connection (for example, mobile hotspot).

Can hear the question, but not recording

If you can hear the practice question but not yourself, this means that your microphone audio is not being picked up. Please:

  • Ensure chosen microphone is connected and unobstructed

  • Ensure your browser is set to use the correct microphone via browser settings

  • Check the microphone itself is working by using a non-browser application

  • If on an Apple device, please also ensure the browser is allowed to access the microphone and camera within 'System Preferences'

If issues persist, please try accessing the video interview via a different device or connection (for example, mobile hotspot).

Microphone Check failed

If your microphone access check has failed, there are a couple of points to check here:

  • Ensure the Microphone is plugged in and accessible

  • Ensure your browser is set to use the correct microphone via browser settings

  • Try your microphone in another program to check if the issue is device or browser related

  • Check the security permissions & settings of your browser to ensure the right devices are selected and allowed access to our website (If you're on a Mac or iPhone, please check your device security settings also allow access to your chosen browser)

If issues persist, please try accessing the video interview via a different device or connection (for example, mobile hotspot).
