The Adjustment History tab is a complete log of every adjustment posted in CRO Billing—write-offs, balance corrections, and other AR adjustments. It is the place to go when you need to verify that a write-off was recorded correctly, respond to a question from your accountant or auditor, or check what adjustments were made during a specific period.
Steps
1. Go to Adjustments. Click Adjustments in the left sidebar.
2. Click the Adjustment History tab. Click the Adjustment History tab. The full adjustment log loads, showing all posted adjustments in reverse chronological order.
📸 Screenshot suggestion: The Adjustment History tab showing the table with columns for date, customer, adjustment type, reason code, amount, and posted by.
3. Review the columns. Each row in the Adjustment History represents one posted adjustment. The key columns are:
Date — The date the adjustment was posted
Customer — The customer account the adjustment was applied to
Type — The adjustment category (Write-Off, Invoice Credit, Discount, etc.)
Reason Code — The specific reason selected when the adjustment was posted (for example, WO-302 Small Balance or WO-300 Uncollectible)
Amount — The dollar amount of the adjustment
Posted By — The user who created and saved the adjustment
4. Filter by date range. Use the As Of date control in the toolbar to narrow the history to a specific period. This is useful at month end when you need to see all adjustments posted during the current period.
📸 Screenshot suggestion: The Adjustment History toolbar showing the As Of date field with a date entered, and the table filtered to show only adjustments within that period.
5. Filter by customer or type. Use the search bar to find adjustments for a specific customer by typing their name. Use the Add Filter button to filter by adjustment type or reason code if you need to see only write-offs, for example, or only a specific type of adjustment.
6. Verify a specific adjustment. Locate the adjustment you want to verify and review its details. Confirm the date, amount, reason code, and the user who posted it all match what you expect.
💡 Note: Adjustment History is a read-only view. If you find an adjustment that appears incorrect — wrong amount, wrong customer, or wrong reason code — contact your administrator. Adjustments cannot be edited after they are posted; you'll need to make a correcting entry.
Common Uses for Adjustment History
Your accountant asks how much was written off this month. Go to Adjustment History, set the As Of date to the end of the current month, and filter by Type to show only Write-Off adjustments. The total at the bottom of the table shows the figure.
An auditor wants to see the reason codes used for write-offs. Filter the history by Type (Write-Off) and export or screenshot the results. Each row shows the selected reason code, the amount, and who posted it.
To confirm a specific balance was cleared, Search for the customer name in Adjustment History. If an adjustment was posted for that customer, it will appear here with the date and amount.
A write-off appears in Adjustment History that you do not recognize. Check the Posted By column to see who created it and the date it was posted. If it should not have been posted, contact your administrator — a correcting entry will be needed to reverse it.
