What is a Recipe?

A Recipe is a template that allows you to save a set of configurations for automation tasks, making it easier to reuse them later. With Recipes, you don't have to spend time re-entering the same information every time you run an automation. Simply save your current configuration as a Recipe, and you can quickly load it whenever you need to perform the same operation again.

Why Use Recipes Instead of Duplicating Automations?

Duplicating an automation requires remembering its name and searching for it when you want to reuse the setup. With Recipes, you can save configurations with clear, descriptive names, making them easy to find and apply instantly. This streamlines your workflow and ensures consistency without the hassle of manual searches.

Benefits of Using Recipes

  • No More Searching for Automation Names: Unlike the previous method where you had to remember and search for the automation name to duplicate it, Recipes let you save configurations with intuitive names for easy searching.

  • Save Time: Avoid re-entering the same configuration details repeatedly.

  • Consistency: Ensure your automation tasks are always performed with the same settings, reducing the risk of errors.

  • Efficiency: Quickly access and use previously saved configurations, speeding up your workflow.

  • Flexibility: You can create as many Recipes as needed, each tailored for different tasks or processes.

Steps to Create a Recipe

Follow these steps to save your current configuration as a Recipe:

  1. For completed automation, a "Save Recipe" button will be displayed.

  2. This allows the user to create a recipe based on the automation, preserving the exact configuration. The user will need to provide a name and description for the recipe.

  3. Access your saved recipes from 'Recipes' page.

Types of Recipes

The Recipes listed in the system can be of two types, and users can filter them accordingly:

  1. Crop.photo Recipes - These are global Recipes predefined for all users to ensure consistency in common automation tasks.

  2. My Recipes - These are Recipes created by the user, allowing for personalized configurations based on specific needs.

Using a Saved Recipes

To use a saved recipe and start a new project, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Recipes Page:

    • Go to the Recipes page where all your saved Recipes are listed.

  2. Search for a Recipe:

    • Use the search bar to quickly find a Recipe by name, or browse through the list of available Recipes.

  3. Start a New Project with a Recipe:

    • Once you've found the Recipe you want to use, click on Create Project. This will apply the Recipe's configuration to your new project.

  4. Apply the Recipe Configuration:

    • After clicking Create Project, the automation settings from the Recipe will automatically be loaded into your new project, allowing you to start your task right away.

Best Practices for Recipes

  • Organize Your Recipes: Use clear and descriptive names for your Recipes, so you can easily identify them later.

  • Update Recipes Regularly: If your configuration needs change over time, be sure to edit and save updated Recipes.

  • Delete Unused Recipes: If you no longer need a Recipe, delete it to keep your list organized.
