A strong visual, whether a video or an eye-catching image, can make all the difference to how well your project connects with potential supporters. This guide explains how to add visuals to the top of your page and throughout your project story.
Adding a header image
To upload your header image:
Go to the Project page tab in your project editor.
Select the option to upload an image.
Choose a high-quality JPG or PNG file.
Make sure the resolution is at least 1,600 x 900 pixels and the file size is no larger than 2MB.

Adding a header video
To add a video to the top of your page, you first need to upload it to either YouTube or Vimeo, then paste the link into your project editor.
Select the Project page tab and look for the video link field, just below the image upload option.
Tips for a great video
Keep it short- one to two minutes is ideal.
Recording on your phone is perfectly fine.
Focus on your story: who you are, what you're doing, and why it matters.
Vimeo embedding
If your Vimeo video isn't displaying correctly, check the following in your Vimeo account settings:
Make sure the video visibility is set to public or configured to allow embedding.
Ensure that embedding is turned on for the video.
Use the standard Vimeo embed link rather than the share URL.
π‘ Still having trouble with Vimeo? Switching to YouTube is often the quickest fix- embedding is straightforward, and there are no additional privacy settings to configure. |
Adding more images and videos to your story
You can add as many images and videos as you like throughout the body of your project. Scroll down to the Tell your story section in the editor, where you'll find icons to insert either an image or a video link inline with your text.

Do I need a video to launch?
No- a video isn't required to go live. That said, we'd strongly encourage you to include one if you can.
Projects with videos tend to perform better. Many supporters are more likely to watch a short clip than read through a full project description, and a video gives them a chance to connect with the people behind the idea.

ποΈ Please note: If you add a video to your page, it will display instead of your main header image, not as well as. The image will, however, be visible in your project thumbnail (example below).
