What is a unique supporter?

How many qualifying pledges do I need to receive match funding?

Updated over a week ago

When a match funding partner agrees to pledge extra funds on your project, you will need to meet specific pledge criteria in order to receive the money. This criteria varies from fund to fund, but almost all of them require you to have a minimum number of unique supporters (also known as qualifying pledges).

A unique supporter is a pledge made using a single name, address and payment card. Multiple pledges sharing the same name or email address will only be counted once, and will therefore only qualify as one unique supporter.

More than one pledge made using the same payment card or the same, distinctive bank fingerprint will also be counted as a unique supporter. For example, if both a primary and additional cardholder make a pledge with the shared card, this pledge will only be counted once.

Read our guidelines for more information, specifically the following section:

HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY UNIQUE SUPPORTERS I HAVE?

Log into your project dashboard and scroll down to the Supporters section in the left hand column. Here you'll see the number of pledges you've received, the number of supporters who've pledged, and how many of these qualify towards extra funding.
