When a match funding partner agrees to pledge extra funds to your project, you will need to meet specific pledge criteria to receive the money. These criteria vary from fund to fund, but almost all of them require you to have a minimum number of unique supporters (also known as qualifying pledges). For example, British Airways (BA) funding mandates a requirement of at least 25 unique backers to qualify for match funding.
A unique supporter is a pledge made using a single name, address and payment card. Multiple pledges sharing the same name or email address will only be counted once, and will therefore only qualify as one unique supporter. The value of the pledge does not affect the qualification as a unique supporter.
More than one pledge made using the same payment card or the same, distinctive bank fingerprint will also be counted as a unique supporter. For example, if both a primary and an additional cardholder make a pledge with the shared card, this pledge will only be counted once. Additionally, contributions such as Employee Giving vouchers from BA or Aviva are not counted towards the unique backers' requirement.

HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY UNIQUE SUPPORTERS I HAVE?
Log in to your project dashboard and scroll down to the Supporters section in the left-hand column. Here you'll see the number of pledges you've received, the number of supporters who've pledged, and how many of these qualify towards extra funding. To ensure you meet the unique backer requirement, monitor the "Qualifying Pledges" count displayed in this section and confirm it reaches the necessary threshold before your project closes.
