Understanding Qualifying Pledges on Crowdfunder
Qualifying pledges play a crucial role in helping project owners secure additional funding from Crowdfunder's partner programs. Before diving into specific requirements, it is important to understand what qualifying pledges are, how they differ from total pledges, and their significance in matchfunding programs.
When a matchfunding partner agrees to pledge +Extra funding to your project, you will need to meet specific pledge criteria to receive the money. These criteria vary from fund to fund; some will provide live matchfunding for each first-time pledge by a unique supporter, while others will add one large pledge once you meet a minimum amount of unique supporters.
What is a unique supporter?
A unique supporter is someone who pledges once or more on a Crowdfunder page using the same unique details, including their name, email address, and payment card.
Multiple pledges made using the same details will register as being made by the same unique supporter. More than one pledge made using the same payment card or the same, distinctive bank fingerprint will also be counted as a unique supporter. For example, if both a primary and an additional cardholder pledge using their shared card, only one unique supporter pledge will be registered.
Employee Giving Voucher Donations
Contributions made to a project using Employee Giving vouchers, such as BA or Aviva employee vouchers, are not counted towards the unique backers' requirement.

How do I know how many unique supporters my project has?
Log in to your project dashboard and scroll down to the Supporters section in the left-hand column. Here, you'll see the number of pledges you've received, the number of supporters who've pledged, and how many of these qualify towards extra funding.
To ensure you meet the unique backer requirement, monitor the 'Qualifying pledges' count displayed in this section and confirm it reaches the necessary threshold before your project closes.
TIPS FOR ACHIEVING THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF UNIQUE SUPPORTERS
Promote to a wide audience: Share your campaign extensively on social media, email newsletters, and within community groups to attract diverse support.
Highlight contribution impact: Communicate how every contribution, regardless of size, can increase your chances of receiving +Extra funding.
Check regularly: Frequently log into your dashboard to monitor your backer count and take action to engage more supporters if necessary.
