By default, when you first create an experience, it will be in the Ready to Start state. While in this state, your crowd will not be allowed to interact with your experience. If your audience visits your Experience URL (a.k.a. Crowd URL) on their mobile device in this state, they will be shown a message that the Experience Will Begin Shortly.

Starting an Experience

To set your experience Live and open to allow players to participate, you'll first need to Start it by locating the Playback Control box in the top right corner of the Experience Dashboard. If your experience has the Countdown Timer enabled, you'll be prompted to either Start Countdown or Skip Countdown.

Your Experience will now allow your crowd to participate if they are logged into your experience on their mobile device (more on this later!) The previous green Play button now turns into a yellow Pause button if you need to pause your experience.

Pausing an Experience

During your live experience, there may be times when you want to pause. Pausing your experience will temporarily stop your crowd from interacting and will show the crowd an "Experience Paused, Will Resume Shortly" message on their mobile devices as displayed below:

To pause an experience, simply click on the yellow circular Pause button under Playback Control. After pausing the experience, the Experience Status located at the top right of the screen will display Paused.

To continue an experience and interaction, simply click the button again, which has now reverted to the green Play button to indicate that this will resume your experience.

Use keyboard shortcuts! You can also press the "P" key on your keyboard to quickly pause and resume the experience. Check out Keyboard Shortcuts Reference for a full list of available shortcuts.

The "Live" State

Your experience will remain in the "Live" status and open to new participants in your crowd until you either Pause or Finish it.
