Before using Crucible, your Ledger device must be initialized and updated.
1. Initialize Device
If your Ledger is brand new, follow the official Ledger Live prompts to:
Set your PIN code.
Generate and physically write down your 24-word Recovery Phrase.
Warning: Never store your recovery phrase digitally. Anyone with these words can access your funds.
2. Update Firmware
In Ledger Live, go to 'My Ledger' and check for firmware updates. Keeping firmware current ensures compatibility with the latest browser security protocols.
3. Install the Polkadot App
Crucible Wallet utilizes the Polkadot app to sign Bittensor transactions.
In Ledger Live, open the App Catalog.
Search for Polkadot.
Click Install. (Note: There is no standalone "Bittensor" app; Polkadot is the correct app for all Substrate-based networks.)
