How do I view the Available Water Capacity?
Updated over a year ago

Available Water Capacity (AWC) is an imagery layer that displays the maximum amount of water that a soil can store and release to plants. Soils have varying AWC depending on the physical and chemical soil characteristics.

  • To see the Available Water Capacity (AWC) layer on your map, simply click on the 'Imagery' icon in the sidebar.

  • The imagery tab will expand. From the imagery drop-down menu, select AWC and the imagery will appear as a layer over your map.

  • Click the on/off toggle in the Imagery tab to turn it off.

  • Increase or decrease the opacity with the slider to see less or more of the map detail underneath.

  • To enhance the contrast between areas (for example, in areas that are highly saturated), you can adjust DecipherAg’s colour scale by selcting, Low, Medium or High or by customising the scale using the adjustable colour bar.

  • Select from the six depths to view the predicted AWC for that depth range. Only one depth can be selected at any time.
