Only available to DecipherAg Plus or Biomass+ users.
Compare your monthly rainfall at selected locations across multiple seasons and make observations on how your biomass trends in comparison.
Using rainfall data from the SILO database, DecipherAg now allows you to view your monthly rainfall data, set side by side to your plant growth data when you use the charts tool.
The SILO rainfall dataset is spatially complete using mathematical interpolation technique to create gridded data with infilled values to provide national coverage of Australia.
The rainfall data used is collected from BoM and other sources. It has been calculated through weather stations triangulation for each point/paddock selected and interpolating the data obtained from the 3 closest stations.
How to view your monthly rainfall data?
Click or tap the 'Imagery icon' in the left hand menu to display the biomass panel.
Select your Biomass options: HD, SD or peak imagery to adjust the biomass layer on the map.
Choose either: Daily, Monthly or Seasonal Imagery by clicking on the tab.
Then at the bottom of the map, click the ‘Compare biomass’ button to expand the biomass charts panel.
Use the 'Select point' or 'Select paddock' button depending on what you want to compare and click on an area on your map.
Select the 'Compare by location' tab to view up to 6 locations/ paddocks for a chosen year.
OR select the 'Compare by season' tab to view one location across multiple seasons (up to 6 years).
On the chart, data will be plotted as a coloured line for biomass and a bar graph for the monthly rainfall. Months are displayed along the X-axis, biomass is displayed on the left-hand Y-axis, and rainfall (mm) is displayed on the right-hand Y-axis.
Note: Swap between monthly rainfall, cumulative rainfall or turn the rainfall off with the rainfall drop-down menu.
Hover over any point on the bar to view the total rainfall for that month or click on any point along the line graph to view the biomass data.
