Reviewing Water Use Efficiency in DecipherAg

Updated over a week ago

Only available to DecipherAg Plus users

DecipherAg displays Water Use Efficiency (WUE) using crop yield (in kg) and growing season rainfall (GSR): 25% of Nov – March rainfall + 100% of 1st April -31st Oct rainfall, calculated from SILO weather data service. A higher number indicates higher efficiency.

To be able to view the WUE review, you need to have recorded your actuals: yield at a paddock level.

To view your WUE review:

  1. Select 'Review' on the left-hand menu - Select 'Insights

  2. Select the WUE tab.

  3. Select the season. The number of qualifying farms and paddocks will be shown

  4. Filter by Farm, or Crop type

On the map, each paddock will be coloured based on its WUE value in yield kg per mm GSR (Growing Season Rainfall)

Hover on a paddock to see the historical details of that paddock including: year, crop type and respective yield, rainfall at the farm level (GSR/Total yearly rainfall) and WUE value (in bold) in kg/mm GSR.

In the top right of the screen is the WUE summary for each crop (of the selected year). This allows you to compare WUE values between crops.

Hover on the column for each crop to see the different WUE values for each paddock within a crop.

You can expand/collapse that window by selecting the arrows on the top right of the box.
