What are the typical reasons why post-purchase offers don’t appear during checkout?

Written by Bambino

Here are the typical reasons why post-purchase offers may not appear at checkout:

  • The customer uses a buy-now-pay-later service or a digital wallet (e.g. Klarna, Affirm, AfterPay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Shop Pay, or Google Pay).

  • The initial purchase was made using a gift card or a non-credit card payment method.

  • The order total is under $0.50.

  • The customer is paying in a different currency than your store’s default (set in your Shopify admin).

  • App conflict: if another post-purchase app is installed, it may interfere with Moonbundle.
→ To fix this, go to Settings > Checkout in your Shopify admin and set Moonbundle as the active post-purchase app.

  • The order includes duties or import fees (Shopify blocks post-purchase offers in this case).

  • The product has inventory tracking enabled, but the stock level is zero or below.

  • The order includes a local delivery item.

  • Temporary delays on Shopify’s end due to high platform demand.

  • Some third-party payment providers that require storing the customer’s CVV/CVN (e.g. Braintree, Payflow Pro, PayPal Payments Pro, or Eway) are not compatible with post-purchase offers.
