A quick tip to resolve common web browser issues

This article will walk you through how to common web browser issues as seen below:

  • Login Issues

  • Popups not displaying

  • Information missing from a page

  • Pages not loading at all

  • Features not working properly

Clearing Site Settings & Incognito Mode

The most common fix for many issues is clearing out site settings within the browser or ruling out issues with 3rd party software such as browser plugins. Here's a short video of how to do this in Google Chrome.

How to do this in other browsers. Note: Chrome is the preferred browser for using Curate

Open a new incognito or private browsing window. This mode disables extensions and uses default settings, helping identify if an extension is causing the issue.

  • You can use a keyboard shortcut to open an Incognito window:

    • Windows, Linux, or Chrome OS: Press Ctrl + Shift + n.

    • Mac: Press โŒ˜ + Shift + n.

If Incognito worked, try disabling any browser plugins/extensions that are enabled through the browser settings

Hard Refresh Your Browser

Update Your Browser

Make sure you are using the latest version of your browser. Outdated browsers may have compatibility issues.

  • Check for updates in the browser's settings or download the latest version from the official website.

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Try loading other websites to confirm it's not a connectivity issue.

  • Check your internet speed at speedtest.net

    • Upload speed is more important than download speed when it comes to syncing data/seeing any web-based changes.

    • Upload speeds under 10mbps are slow.

Check Security Software

  • Your antivirus or firewall settings could be blocking certain elements on websites. Temporarily disable them to check if they are the cause.

Try a Different Browser

  • If the issue persists, try accessing the website using a different browser. This can help determine if the problem is browser-specific.
