Steps to Use Calculated Properties in Curate

  1. Navigate to Settings:

    • Go to Settings in the Curate application.

    • Select Custom Properties under the settings menu.

  2. Create a Calculated Property:

    • Click on Add New Custom Property and select Event as the property type.

    • Choose Calculated Property as the type.

    • Assign a name (e.g., "Delivery Fee") and set the default calculation type.

  3. Define Line Item Categories:

    • Ensure that your line items (e.g., "Floral" or "Hard goods") are categorized appropriately. These can be adjusted within your Catalog or directly within an event on the Orders page.

    • These categories will drive the calculation logic.

  4. Apply Calculated Properties to Events:

    • Open an event.

    • On the event overview, assign the relevant line item categories to calculated property.

    • Then, adjust the percentage associated with the calculated property.

  5. View and Update Calculations:

    • The calculated fees will automatically populate based on line item totals.

    • If adjustments are needed, return to the event overview to modify the property parameters.

  6. Incorporate into Proposals:

    • The calculated fees can be added directly into your order as a Fees section for example.
