When you opt into the BNPL Builder or Cushion PRO plan, you will be issued a virtual debit card, also known as your Cushion card. The Cushion virtual card functions like any other debit card and can be used to pay your bills, subscriptions, and Buy Now Pay Later payments.
Your Cushion card will be connected to your personal debit card. This means that every time you make a payment to a biller, the funds will be withdrawn from your personal debit card or associated bank account. By using the Cushion card to pay your bills, we can ensure that all your positive payments are reported to the credit bureau.
To start using the Cushion card, simply copy your card details and add it as a payment method for bills you're looking to build credit on.
For customers on the BNPL Builder package, you are able to build credit on all Buy Now Pay Later payments.
For customers on Cushion PRO, you are able to build credit on all Buy Now Pay Later payments, bills, subscriptions, and other recurring payments.
For more specific instructions on how to receive a Cushion card and pay your bills with it, please follow the steps below:
Log in to your Cushion account and head to the Cushion Card tab.
If you are not currently on a Cushion PRO or BNPL Builder plan, you will need to select "Start Building Credit" and select a package. You will then be prompted to activate your Cushion card by connecting your personal debit card.
If you are already on a credit-building plan and have activated your Cushion card, your card will appear on the right side of the screen in the Cushion Card tab.
Once you locate your Cushion card, simply copy your card details, add it as the payment method for each of your recurring bills, and turn on autopay.
We will provide suggested billers to add and by selecting "Link & Add to Report" we will take you straight to the billers payment screen for you to add your Cushion card as a payment method.
When a bill is due, Cushion will pull funds from your connected bank account or debit card and pay it automatically.
And that’s it! We’ll notify you when your bills have been paid!
