What charities are on Daffy?

You can donate to over 1.5 million charities on Daffy. As long as the organization is a 501(c)(3) organization and public charity in good standing with the IRS, it will likely already be on Daffy.

How do I search charities on Daffy?

If you’re a Daffy member, you can search charities by their name, address or tax ID (also known as EIN). When you log in, your Daffy homepage will have a search bar on the top right. If you're using the Daffy app, tap the "Find Charities" button. You can also search by clicking or tapping the “Donate” button on your Daffy homepage.

If you’re not a Daffy member, follow these steps.

The best way to search a charity on Daffy is by using the organization’s federal tax ID or EIN. If the charity is registered with the IRS and eligible for donations from Daffy, searching by its tax ID will provide an exact match. Many charities list their federal tax ID on their websites in the “Donate” section. If they don't list it on their website, we recommend contacting them to ask for it.

What if the charity’s tax ID shows a different name on Daffy?

Charities are listed on Daffy by their legal names with the IRS. If you are searching by tax ID, and the charity name is different than what you expect, it could be because:

  • The organization is doing business under a different name (i.e. not their legal name)

  • The organization is a project or initiative of a larger charity or institution and does not have its own tax ID

  • The organization is fiscally sponsored by another charity and does not have its own tax ID

What if I can’t find my charity on Daffy?

First, reach out to the charity and tell them you want to make a tax-deductible donation from your donor-advised fund and need their federal tax ID. If their tax ID is not in our search results, and you believe it meets our eligibility requirements, you can request we add it to Daffy.

In some cases, we are able to add organizations not registered with the IRS but still eligible as tax exempt organizations under IRS code. One example is houses of worship (e.g. churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc.).

Public schools and public institutions may also be eligible through a registered 501(c)(3) charity that manages their fundraising like a “PTA or PTO” or a “Friends of” organization. If you can’t find the organization on Daffy, please reach out to them directly to ask for their federal tax ID and the best way to make a tax-deductible donation.
