As with all donor-advised funds, Daffy members may not recommend donations to satisfy pre-existing pledges or obligations for their private benefit. Donation recommendations may not provide more than an incidental benefit to you or your family.
Examples of donation recommendations that may not be approved include tuition payments, tickets to a gala, or membership benefits to other organizations. As a result, Daffy cannot approve recommendations that are intended to cover any portion of a donation that would result in anything more than an incidental benefit accruing to you or your family.
Members are permitted to receive items that have been deemed of “insubstantial value” according to IRS rules, such as a keychain or calendar. Receiving recognition for a donation is generally also acceptable.
