Which Muse is compatible with Myndlift?

There are 6 different Muse versions available.

The Myndlift app requires a Muse device to provide users with neurofeedback. Beware, however, that not all models are currently being supported by our technology.

How to quickly spot the difference?

Muse (MU-01)

  • It has two MicroUSB ports on the back of the headband

  • The power button does not have a power logo printed on it

  • Not in production anymore.

Muse (MU-02)

  • It looks exactly like the original Muse, but with only one MicroUSB port, located on the back of the headband

  • The power button has a power logo printed on it

  • Not in production anymore.

Muse 2 (MU-03)

  • Upgraded design to look sleeker, lower profile, and with a soft-touch finish

  • It has additional sensors like PPG, pulse oximetry, inertial sensors, accelerometer, and gyroscope

  • It only has one MicroUSB port, located on the back of the headband. Newer models have a USB-C port starting in 2025.

  • It is available through Amazon or Muse website

Muse S (MS-01)

  • Its design resembles a sweatband

  • It only has one MicroUSB port, located on the top-front of the headband

  • Not in production anymore, but you may still find it on Amazon

Muse S Gen 2 (MS-02)

  • Its design resembles a sweatband

  • It only has one MicroUSB port, located on the top-front of the headband

  • It is available through Amazon or Muse website

  • This is the Generation 2 of Muse S

  • Not in production anymore, but you may still find it on Amazon

Muse S Gen 3, 'Athena' (MS-03)

  • Its design resembles a sweatband

  • It only has one USB-C port, located on the top-front of the headband

  • It is available through Amazon or Muse website

  • This is the Generation 3 of Muse S

  • It supports fNIRS technology
