Assigning a customised inspection form template to an asset in Gearbelt ensures that inspections are tailored to the asset’s specific requirements. Instead of using a generic checklist, a customised template allows you to:

  • Capture Relevant Data – Focus on key inspection points based on the asset type, condition, and usage

  • Ensure Consistency – Standardise inspections across similar assets for accurate comparisons

  • Identify Issues Early – Spot potential failures before they become costly problems

  • Improve Compliance & Reporting – Meet regulatory requirements and maintain a clear audit trail

First, ensure that the Inspection form template you'd like to assign is created

To assign an inspection form template to an asset, follow these steps:

1. Access the 'Assets' section under 'Admin' in the left-hand side navigation menu. Select the relevant asset

2. This will bring you into the 'Overview' section of the asset

3. Scroll all the way down to 'Forms deployment'. Under 'Inspection Form', you'll be able to select from a dropdown which inspection form template you'd like to assign to this specific asset. Click 'Save' to save the changes

Now when someone selects this asset in the Asset Web app to fill out an inspection form, the assigned Inspection Form template will open
