Use blank QR codes in Gearbelt to get ahead on labeling assets that haven’t arrived on site or been added to the platform yet. It gives teams the flexibility to prepare labels ahead of time, streamlining setup once the assets arrive. Blank QR codes also come in handy when an existing code becomes damaged or unreadable - you can simply print a new one and reassign it without disrupting operations.
To generate blank QR codes, follow these steps:
1. Access the Assets section under the Admin section in the left-hand side navigation menu. Select the Generate QR Codes button in the top right of the menu bar
2. A pop-up window will appear with two options:
Asset QR Codes: the QR codes generated will be associated to the assets recorded on your workspace. Each QR code corresponds to an asset in your Assets register, they need to be allocated accordingly on the machines
Blank QR Codes: the QR codes generated will be blank and can be allocated to your assets individually later on
Select the Blank QR Codes option
3. You'll then be able to print your QR code sheet, or save it as a PDF to print later (using the Destination dropdown)
