Why can’t I record my location?

Learn what can be preventing you from recording your location in a form

If you're unable to record your location using the location field in a form, it's typically due to your device settings. Location services may be turned off, or the app might not have permission to access your location. To fix this, check that location services are enabled on your device and that Dashpivot/Sitemate has the necessary permissions. Also, make sure you have a stable internet connection, as poor connectivity can affect location accuracy.

To double check your location services settings, follow these steps:

1. If your location services aren’t enabled for the Sitemate app, an error message should appear when you try to use the Location field. Select 'Open Settings'

2. This will bring you to the Location settings for the app. Select any of the options excluding 'Never', depending on how you wish to share your location with the Sitemate app

3. Once you've made your selection, you'll be able to use the Location field with no issues

Note:

  • While offline, you can still capture your location — it will be based on your last known location when you had signal. If this happens, an error message will appear to let you know and prompt you to go online:
