Once you've digitised your processes using Dashpivot, your teams will be able to use Dashpivot on their phones and computers. In addition to these must-haves, many of our customers choose to supply their workforce with tablets.
A larger screen means you can see more information at a time, which is handy for photos, tables, and PDF attachments (eg. drawings).
If you want to use Dashpivot on a phone/tablet there's a few things you should consider before committing to make a purchase
Strong Recommendation - DO NOT BUY: Microsoft Surface
Reasons not to buy:
Android and iOS apps are not supported
The above means you do not get access to Dashpivot's mobile-specific functionality; Offline Mode, Photo Markup, Photo Stamping, Form Autosaving
Although these devices look like tablets, they run a desktop operating system (eg. Windows 10), and function like a desktop computer or laptop.
To use Dashpivot on these devices, you will need to login via the browser (we recommend Google Chrome) and use the web app version of Dashpivot. The disadvantage here is that you cannot take photos while using the Dashpivot in the browser. Instead you have to upload the photos the same way as you would using Dashpivot on a regular desktop computer.

Device Brands
What we recommend:
We recommend running Dashpivot on either an Apple or Samsung device. Products offered by these companies are stable, reliable, easy to use and well supported. With these devices you can download the native version of the Dashpivot app via the Apple Appstore or Google PlayStore.
What to avoid:
We strongly advise you do NOT run Dashpivot on tablets by OnePlus or Infinix.
While these devices may be cheaper, they have known compatibility issues with Dashpivot.
Device generation / age
Older generation tablets may run into software compatibility and support issues.ย
For example, if you purchase a tablet today which is 3+ years old, in 2 years this tablet may not be able to run the latest version of Android or iOS.ย
Apple and Google are continuously improving their technology behind their tablets, each releasing at least one major update to their operating systems each year. These updates are not available to older devices.
These updates also require apps like Dashpivot to meet new requirements, and for this reason we are not able to offer an app compatible with much older versions of Android and iOS.
In summary, we recommend purchasing a relatively new device (less than 2 years old). It will be compatible with your favourite apps (including Dashpivot) for longer, and will generally perform faster than older generation devices.
Intrinsically Safe Devices
To ensure a tablet or iPad is intrinsically safe on hazardous job sites, we recommend ensuring your device is kept in an enclosed protective case certified by recognized international standards like ATEX (Europe), IECEx (International), UL or CSA (North America).
These certifications ensure the device will not pose a hazard through producing heat, sparks or excessive energy levels.
Device Protection
We suggest purchasing high quality, durable cases for your tablet to prevent damage on site, and make sure you also use screen protectors to prevent scratching or cracks.
If you operate in a hazardous Zone 1 or Zone 2 environment, we recommend a device case that is ATEX or IECEx Certified that has the following characteristics:
Intrinsically safe design to limit energy, control heat and prevent static build up
Sealed enclosures (Water / Dust Resistant)
Shock-resistant padding
Temperature controlled
Anti-static Materials
