If you want to be able to see where each photo was taken relative to your project alignment, you can upload your project alignment as a KML file.

This is useful if you want to be able to see where photos are, relative to other assets such as:

  • Road and tunnel control lines

  • Utilities and services

  • Project site boundaries

It's also very useful on remote greenfield projects when there are no roads/landmarks visible in Google Maps yet.

โ€‹How to upload the KML file

  1. Click on the relevant project in the sidebar

  2. In the home section, click settings

  3. Click 'Project Alignment' on the left side of the screen

  4. Click the blue button 'Upload alignment'

  5. Select your alignment KML file from your computer, and upload.

Once you've completed these steps, when you view a photo with GPS data, you will see the alignment.

How to change the alignment

Currently, we only support one project alignment per project. If you want to make a change or add more detail to your KML, you can overwrite the existing KML by following the steps above, and clicking 'Upload alignment'
