Prepare your randomization import file

Updated over a week ago

Static randomization allows you to import a predefined randomization list directly into Datacapt.

This method is typically used when the allocation sequence has already been generated outside Datacapt (for example by a statistician) and must be respected exactly as provided.

To ensure proper import and validation, itโ€™s essential to use the correct file format offered to download and understand what each column represents.

How to import your randomization

  1. Download the template from the study settings.

  2. Fill it in using your randomization plan (Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets).

  3. Re-upload it into Datacapt.

โš ๏ธ Important notes before uploading :

When using spreadsheet editors such as Excel (on-premise) or Numbers (Mac), automatic conversions can alter data formats.

Before saving and uploading your file, always double-check the formatting of each column according to the expected structure below.

  • treatment_arm_code: integer defined in the randomization configuration

  • center_abbreviation: string (when using number as abbreviation, check that the data are still in a string format and not converted to integer).

  • $VARIABLEXXX: string - mandatory only if you have stratification by labels - the options labels of your variables. you will have as much as columns as you have variables for stratification.

  • $PAYLOAD: string - not mandatory
