Static content blocks collect nothing. They explain. A pain scale diagram next to the question, a link to the lab manual, a reminder of the fasting rule: each one removes a query later.
š Prerequisite: the Builder (Edit) permission of the module you work in, and a form you can edit.

Add an instruction with a link

Open the form, click Add question and select Static content, then Instruction
Type your text
Select the words that will carry the link, then select the Link icon
Paste the address in Enter URL and confirm
Select Save
š” Tip: link to documents that live outside Datacapt and change over time, such as a lab manual on your SharePoint. For documents the site must find inside the study, upload them under Documents instead. See Upload and organize study documents.
Show an answer inside an instruction
Insert variable places the answer to another question inside your text. Example: "The subject weighed {V0_WEIGHT} kg at screening. Record today's weight below." The site reads the real value.
Add an image

Click Add question and select Static content, then Image
Select Upload image and choose a .jpeg, .jpg or .png file
Select Save
Typical uses: a body map for lesion location, a Bristol stool chart, a photo of the device the participant must use, a Fitzpatrick skin type chart.
Show an image next to one question
A question has its own image option. In the question editor, switch on Your Image ("Show an image while asking the question") and upload the file. Use this when the picture belongs to one question, and an Image block when it introduces a group of questions.
š” Tip: for ePRO and eConsent, check the image on a phone before you publish. A wide table saved as a picture becomes unreadable on a small screen. Crop to the part the participant needs.
What you cannot add
A video block or a file attachment block. Host the video elsewhere and link to it from an Instruction.
A standalone link button. Links live inside an Instruction.
