User Management

Written by DataFromSky

The User Management section provides tools for managing user accounts, access permissions, and audit records on the device. It consists of three sections: My Account, Users, and Audit Log. The Users and Audit Log sections are available only to users with Admin privileges.

My Account

The My account section displays information about the currently logged-in user, including account details, assigned role, and access token.

By clicking Edit, users can update their personal information and change their password.

User Roles

FLOW supports four user roles:

  • Admin – Administrative access with user management capabilities.

  • Analyst – Access to analytics and operational features.

  • Viewer – Read-only access to available data and dashboards.

Users

The Users section allows administrators to create new user accounts and manage existing ones.

New User

New users can be added by clicking the Add a user function. Existing users can be edited as well.

Users can be configured their User role globally, or Specified roles per analytic.

Users can have Unlimited or Scheduled Time mode access.

Password Requirements

Password requirements can be either disabled or enforced globally for all users. When enabled, administrators can define:

  • Minimum password length.

  • Requirement for uppercase letters.

  • Requirement for lowercase letters.

  • Requirement for digits.

  • Requirement for special characters.

These rules are automatically validated whenever a password is created or changed. Existing users receive a notification upon logging in whenever their password does not meet the requirements.

Audit Log

The Audit Log records all user actions performed on the device and provides a complete history of configuration changes.

Each log entry contains:

  • Time – Timestamp of the operation.

  • User – User who performed the action.

  • Operation – Type of action executed.

  • Resource – Component affected by the change.

  • ID – Internal identifier of the affected resource.

  • Status – Result of the operation.

  • IP Address – Source IP address of the request.

  • Duration – Execution time of the operation.

Audit records can be filtered by the user, operation type, resource and time range. Filtered results can be exported to CSV for reporting and further analysis.

Log Entry Details

Selecting a log entry opens a detailed view containing the exact change that was performed and full request information.

Data Retention

Audit logs are stored locally on the device and are available across all FLOW device types. By default, the system retains log history for up to 7 days, and at most 50k records. The retention period can be shortened (not prolonged) through Block -> Settings -> Data retention, section Audit log.
