Performing a span calibration

Non-Tru-Test load bars may need to be span calibrated to allow the S2 or S3 indicator to register weights correctly

Updated over 2 years ago

All Tru-Test load bars will be automatically detected by the S2 or S3 indicator. Most leading load bars can also be set up to work with the indicator. Select your load bars from the Load bar type option on the Settings screen of the Data Link app or Data Link for PC. However, if your load bars are not available for selection, you will need to perform a span calibration to set up your load bars to weigh correctly.

What you need

  • A known weight (e.g. a few bags of feed with accurate, known weights)

  • Ensure that your load bars are free from dirt and stones

  • Know the capacity of your load bars. If you don't know the capacity of your load bars, you can calibrate the indicator by using a weight that is slightly greater than your heaviest animal. Enter this in the capacity field during the span calibration process.

Using the Data Link app

You can perform a span calibration from the Settings screen by following the step-by-step instructions.

If there are settings for a prior span calibration you can erase it with the Clear Calibration option.
